SocialCrawl
SocialCrawl is a web API for retrieving publicly accessible data from social media, search, e-commerce and other online platforms. It presents responses from different services in a common JSON structure and is intended for use by software developers and AI agents.[1]

History
SocialCrawl launched in April 2026. It was created by the team at Ridio, a London-based technology company that provides AI solutions and automations for businesses.[2][3][4] The project began as an attempt to build an internal AI system that monitored several social platforms and identified posts for engagement.[5]
Service
As of August 2026, SocialCrawl lists 50 platforms and 400 endpoints. The listed sources included TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, GitHub and Hacker News. Available operations vary by source and include retrieving profiles, posts, comments, search results, transcripts and advertising-library records.[1] The service also publishes packages for connecting AI software through the Model Context Protocol.[6]

Unified schema
SocialCrawl converts source-specific responses into a common response envelope containing the request status, platform, endpoint, returned data, billing metadata and a request identifier. List endpoints use a shared pagination structure. Author and post records may also contain computed fields such as engagement rate, language, content category and estimated reach when the source provides the required inputs.[7]
Universal Search
Universal Search is a meta-search component centred on the /v1/search/everywhere endpoint. It sends a query to multiple social, forum, research and market sources, then normalises and ranks the returned items in a single result set. Searches can be restricted by source or date, and results can be returned as completed JSON or incrementally through server-sent events.[8][9]
Prism
Prism is a proprietary search engine created by SocialCrawl. It is a composite engine that combine several lookups or analyses behind one API call. Examples include mixed-platform profile and post-statistics batches, cross-source brand-mention timelines, creator analysis and aggregated product or application reviews.[10][11]

Data handling
SocialCrawl's requests are fulfilled on demand through third-party data providers or official public APIs. The service does not retrieve private accounts or direct messages, and that platform responses are cached for between two and 30 minutes.[13]
