Search Solar-PuTTY on Amazon.Solar-PuTTY is a free terminal emulator, serial console and network file transfer application developed and maintained by SolarWinds. It is designed to support a wide range of network protocols, including SCP, SSH, Telnet, and SFTP. It was built as an enhancement of the original SSH client called PuTTY™. The key differences between this newest version and the original is that Solar-PuTTY also features a new browser-like GUI, support for multiple sessions tabs, and password management.

SolarWinds Solar-PuTTY contains all the features of original PuTTY tool, such as variations on the remote terminal. Users can use an SSH encryption key, as well as public-key authentication. Solar-PuTTY was built to support IPv6.
Solar-PuTTY includes an easy-to-navigate GUI based on popular browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox). This GUI can support working with multi-session tabs, quick access to the most used sessions, or defining different colors for each tab to recognize different environments (e.g. test labs, production servers, intranet).
Solar-PuTTY was built to allow users to save their credentials for each session (including private key) for auto-login. It’s can even be used for post-connections scripts to prepare a host for immediate work.
Solar-PuTTY can auto-reconnect to the session with a single click.
Thanks to integration of Windows Search, users can search in saved sessions from the Windows Search button (even when the tool is down). Solar-PuTTY was also designed to support a graphical SFTP file transfer.

The original PuTTY was developed in late 90’s.[1] SolarWinds free-tool team decided to prepare their own enhancement of the tool in 2017. Solar-PuTTY was introduced in June 2018 as another free tool in SolarWinds portfolio.[2] SolarWinds grants that all tools in this program are available for free
Reception[edit]
Right after the release, Solar-PuTTY became the member of many “Best PuTTY alternatives for SSH clients” lists. Mar Wilson[clarification needed] recommends it: “Our recommendation would be the Solar-PuTTY from SolarWinds, as it has a great GUI, gives you many options for saving sessions, grouping them, and sorting them quickly with their Intuitive Search Functionality.”[3] The same conclusion was made by James Cox,[clarification needed] when he marked Solar-PuTTY as “a top choice” in his list.[4]
