Solar Cargo, C.A is a cargo airline based in Valencia, Venezuela. It offers charter cargo services to the Caribbean, America, Asia, and Venezuela.[1][2] It also offers ad-hoc services to the United States, which are operated by American Airlines and Atlas Air, using Boeing 767 and Boeing 747 freighters respectevly.[3]

History[edit]

Solar Cargo was founded in February 9, 2001. During its certification process, the airline incorporated 2 Antonov An-26Bs, and began operations from Caracas and Valencia to Miami.

On September 12, 2006, Solar Cargo completed all the phases required to become a RAV-121 type cargo operator. With its fleet, the company provided its services both in Venezuela and in different markets in the region. In 2008, the airline entered into a cooperative operating agreement with an Indirect Air Operator (IAC) to promote cargo services between the United States and South America through charter of certified North American operators type 121.[4]

In September 2012, the airline incorporated its first and only McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30F into its fleet.
