Saurav Das is a popular Indian Bengali actor,[1] anchor,[2] comedian,[2] and theatre director.[3]
Early life and career[edit]
He graduated from South Point School in Kolkata and got drawn towards theatre. He attributes his passion to his father's love for theatre. He was introduced to Bengali theatre at the tender age of 10 due to his father’s long association with Manoj Mitra’s Sundaram. He began his journey with famed theatre legend Usha Ganguly’s Hindi theatre group Rangakarmee. Saurav started his TV career with the breakout serial, Boyei Gelo, playing Birsa Basak, the younger cousin brother of lead protagonist, Arjun. His Bolly debut was the film 'Kuch Bheege Alfaaz' by director Onir. He has worked with the Bengali film directors Anjan Dutt, Arindam Sil, Birsa Dasgupta, Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, and Raj Chakraborty. He debuted as a playback singer for the Zee Bangla film 'Chore Chore Mastuto Bhai'. Known for his unconventional and bold choices of characters on OTT platforms, he’s created a niche for himself.
