Soureh Cinema Development Organization (Soureh Cinema Organization) started its activities in the 1980s with the production of short films, but since 1997, when it adopted its current name, it has been recognized as one of the active organizations in the field of Iranian cinema.[1]
Currently, the organization's activities focus on the production of feature films and TV series, production of television programs, short films, documentaries, and animations, purchasing foreign film distribution rights, screening and distribution of films, cinema management and development, and attracting and training young filmmakers and cinema students.[2] The latter is carried out through short filmmaking workshops and screenwriting workshops. (The Soureh Screenwriting Workshop School has been active since 1993[3] and the Soureh Film Club since 2014[4]). Currently, the CEO of the organization is Hamidreza Jafarian.[5][6]
