Demauris Johnson, better known by his stage name Spenzo, is an American rapper from Chicago.[1] Spenzo is best known for his single "Wife 'Er",[2] and for his collaborations with artists such as Young Thug [3] G Herbo and King Louie. [4]

Early life[edit]

Spenzo was born into a musical family. Growing up his mother sang in the choir at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church and his stepfather was a DJ known as DJ Deeon, who was a major part of the Chicago Southside House music label Dance Mania.[2]

Career[edit]

Spenzo released his single "Wife 'Er", which was a freestyle recorded over an instrumental produced by Chicago producer Young Chop. [2] In 2014 Drake performed his single "Wife 'Er" at the Chicago stop of his Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour.

In April 2022, Spenzo's collaboration "Bigg Steppa" with Bigga$tate and Mafia Beatz was featured on the No Jumper platform.[1]

In January of 2023, Spenzo's collaboration "TFMB" with Mafia Beatz, CP & Moncler Moon Boy was featured on the Lyrical Lemonade blog.[5]

Personal life[edit]

On June 2 2018 Spenzo was arrested for Unlawful Use of Weapon when police pulled over a vehicle he was in for speeding. Upon searching the vehicle police found Marijuana and a loaded .380 caliber Taurus pistol.[6]
