Tarela Henry Ekaye, better known as Squeeze, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.[1][2] He is nicknamed Record Killa and Don Uber Fresh.[3] Signed to independent U.K label JustJoJo Entertainment.[1][4][5]

Early life[edit]

Tarela Henry Ekaye was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to parents from Delta State, Nigeria. Squeeze Tarela had his primary education at Command Children School Military Cantonment, Ojo, Lagos State. His secondary education was at the Federal Staff Secondary School in Benin, and he graduated from the University of Benin where he studied Geology and obtained a BSc.[2][1][5]

Music career[edit]

Tarela began his musical career in 2007 when he participated in the Glo campus tour where he came second.[6][2] In 2010, he joined forces with Rayconnex and in 2011 was signed on to Blackdutch Entertainment .[2][5]

Squeeze Tarela released his first official single under JustJojo Entertainment, titled "Bend"[7] produced by JayPaulBeatz. Shortly afterwards, he released a single titled "Uber Fresh".[8][5] Tarela released his second official single titled "Hottest Thing" in July 2017.[9][10][11] The track charted for seven weeks on the UK Urban Club Charts, making a debut at the 24th position; it peaked at the 13th position.[12] Squeeze Tarela released his latest single titled "Better"[13][14][15] In May 2018, Squeeze Tarela released his latest single called Cocoa Butter.[16]
