St. Joseph's Pilgrim Church is one of the oldest Christian churches located in the village of Peringuzha in Ernakulam district in India. The church is under the [1] Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Kothamangalam of the Syro-Malabar Church of the Eastern Catholic Church. The church is named after St. Joseph. Historical records attest [2] to the fact that the Peringuzha Church was founded in 1864 AD. Peringuzha is a parish that was formed long before vicarages were established for Marthoma Christians. Peringuzha Church is the first church in the Diocese of Kothamangalam to be named after St. Joseph. For the first time in Kerala, St. Joseph's seven statues (seven anxieties) are also located in its entirety, adjacent to this pilgrimage temple in Peringuzha. Peringuzha is also the mother parish of many nearby parishes.
