Staircase Spirit [1] is an American indie band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The band has been making music and playing shows since 2020. The band is comprised of Eduardo Giralt (vocals/guitar), Jayson Verebay (drums), and Nat Segebre [2] (creative direction/visual media). Eduardo and Jayson met in high school and became friends after discovering their mutual appreciation for bands like Radiohead, The Strokes, and Nirvana (band). In college, the pair began writing and recording together, and marked their first official release on May 7, 2022 with their EP "What Happened To"[3], produced by Nick Corcillo. Nat created the artwork for their first release, and joined the band as their designer, photographer and creative director.

Most recently, the band collaborated with Daryl Palumbo, frontman of the bands Glassjaw, Head Automatica, and Color Film on their new single, The Bronze Jade. The single was produced, mixed and mastered by Palumbo. On June 21st, 2023, the band opened for Head Automatica’s comeback show following a decade-long hiatus at Gramps in Miami.

The band's projects are created under Promise Time. Promise Time is the designator for each of the band's physical releases, as well as the unofficial record label name the band's projects are released under.
