Stars Align App is an online dating and geosocial networking software application designed to facilitate romantic connections between users who are looking for potential partners. This app is developed to be used on smartphones running either Android or iOS. Stars Align app uses astrology, celestial data from Nasa JPL and a patented mathematical algorithm to help people find potential partners with the highest astrological compatibility. The compatibility is calculated to represent a one-digit value on the scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, most compatible rating. While on the Stars Align app, users are shown compatible profiles of other users along with their photos, a short bio, list of interests and also astrological data, including their horoscope, natal chart and synastry data. Users can like or dislike other users' profiles to indicate sympathy and a desire to connect further.[2]
Astrology dating
Astrology-based dating apps have gained popularity between 2019 and 2022, particularly among Gen Z-ers[3] and users who are interested in spirituality and alternative forms of connection, as younger generations are continuing a trend moving away from organized religion[4]. These apps offer a unique approach to finding potential partners and can be a useful tool for individuals who are looking for astrologically compatible matches.
Operation
In order to use the app, users first must download it on a compatible smartphone. After downloading the app, users are required to log in using their email, phone or any of the available social login options, such as Google, Apple or TikTok. Once logged in, new users are required to provide some information to build their astrological profile – name, birthday, birthplace, and time of birth. This information is used to generate and draw a natal chart, which is a visual representation of the positions of the planets at the time of the user's birth. Celestial data from Nasa JPL is used to determine the accurate positions of the stars and planets.
Natal chart compatibility
The natal chart is divided into twelve sections, called houses, which represent different areas of the individual's life. In astrology, each house is associated with a particular astrological sign and planet. According to astrology, the position of the planets within the houses can provide insight into the individual's personality and life experiences.
According to the astrological belief system, two individuals with compatible astrological signs may be more likely to have a successful relationship, as their signs are traditionally believed to be compatible. Moreover, astrological dogmas postulate that positions of the planets in the natal chart can provide further insight into the potential compatibility between two individuals. For example, if the planets in one person's chart are in harmonious alignment with the planets in the other person's chart, this may indicate a strong potential for compatibility and a successful relationship.
Matching process
Once a user's natal chart is generated, Stars Align app uses this information and astrological principles to calculate a compatibility score between all users of the app and then match each user with other individuals in their local area, who have compatible astrological signs and planetary positions.
Matching is done automatically based on astrological compatibility and individual preferences and filters that the user sets for their potential matches. These include location, gender and age.
Users are presented with compatible profiles and can either "like" or "dislike" the potential partner to indicate their affection and desire to continue.
User Profile
Each user's profile section features snippets about Sun, Moon, and Rising signs, as well as the visual representation of the natal chart and details on each of the constituent houses. Potential matches are able to see the same information, thus gaining insight into every aspect of the zodiac.

The Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal has included Stars Align App in its list of niche dating apps, writing that "Stars Align uses methodology that factors in the different components of a user's birth chart to recommend a potential pairing. Users are only shown each other's profiles when the algorithm rates their connection as a six or higher out of 10".[5]
Cosmopolitan magazine
Cosmopolitan (magazine) listed Stars Align App as number one among the best astrology dating apps of 2021.[6]
Popsugar
PopSugar wrote about Stars Align, that it "stands out compared to other astrology-based dating apps" because it "uses data from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to accurately create each user's birth chart".[7]
