From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Stella Ronner-Grubačić is a Dutch diplomat who as of 2018 is a Netherlands Ambassador to Romania and Moldova.[1] She served as Netherlands Ambassador to Croatia from 2010 to 2014.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Ronner-Grubačić holds a Master of European Studies from University of Amsterdam. She also completed postgraduate studies in International Relations at Clingendael Institute and the ENA.[3]

Ambassadorship[edit]

LGBT rights[edit]

Ronner-Grubačić, together with COC Nederland, proposed the opening of LGBT student centers in Romania.[4]

In 2011 as ambassador to Croatia, she said that the riots that developed at the Split Gay Pride Parade were proof that Croatia should be monitored until its accession to the European Union and that Netherlands would insist on closely monitoring how Croatia was fulfilling its obligations.[5][6]

Controversy[edit]

Between December 30, 2017 and January 2, 2018, Ronner-Grubačić and family were seen in Poiana Brașov, in the company of the Romanian businessman Nelu Iordache (convicted of money laundering),[7] and Petru Pitcovici (former police officer charged with drug trafficking).[8]

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Romania rejected allegations of impropriety, stating that Ronner-Grubačić had been off-duty and that the visits had been unofficial.[9]
