Stephen Jonathan Lawson[1][2], better known as Stephen Tries, is an English YouTuber, and stand-up comedian. He is best known for his YouTube channel and his stand-up comedy shows. He grew up in St Helens, Merseyside[3] and attended the University of Salford where he studied comedy.[4][5]

He was a member of XO, a now-defunct sports and comedy group,[6] and has worked with the Sidemen on numerous projects, including on the Sidemen Charity Match as a sports commentator.[7] along with Sidemen Sunday videos including "The Roast of the Sidemen".[8] He also went on a tour titled This Week On The Internet Live with fellow YouTuber WillNE and guest star Max Smith in 2019.[9][10]

He featured in the Netflix series Stephen Tries Cunning Stunts published between November 2021 and March 2022 and, in 2023, he was signed to MonRae Management.[11]
