Steve Jung is a Korean-American concept artist and visual futurist whose work spans film, television, video games, and immersive media. He is the CEO and Executive Creative Director of Parallax Studios, a visualization and visual development company with offices in Los Angeles and London.

Early life and education

Jung studied Illustration and Entertainment Design at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California.[1]

Career

Film and television

Steve Jung began his career as a concept artist in the film and gaming industries, contributing to over 30 major productions such as The Avengers, Tron: Legacy, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and Kong: Skull Island. He was Lead Concept Artist at Imagi Animation on TMNT (2007) and has consulted on character design for studios such as Sony Santa Monica and Sega Sammy.[2] He also served as Head of Visual Development for Universal Pictures’ Dark Universe, where he helped define the visual direction for a planned slate of interconnected monster films.[3]

Parallax Studios

In 2020, Jung co-founded Parallax Studios, a visual development and visualization company specializing in concept art, previs, cinematics, and animation. The studio has contributed to film and streaming projects including The Gray Man, The Electric State, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Westworld (season 4), Dune: Prophecy, and Minecraft: The Movie.[4]

In gaming, the studio has worked with EA and Riot Games, supporting concept development for an unannounced title at Respawn and contributing visual design and cinematic marketing content for Riot’s upcoming feature film and League of Legends campaigns.[5]

Parallax has also partnered with Walt Disney Imagineering on multiple projects, including Marvel-themed experiences and cruise ship installations featuring animated content. Jung’s studio has collaborated with Boston Dynamics, as confirmed by client listings on Parallax’s website and a testimonial from Boston Dynamics’ Chief Strategy Officer, Marc Theermann.[6][7]

In 2025, Parallax Studios signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) for representation.[8]

Technology and innovation

Jung is known for integrating real-time and simulation technologies into creative pipelines. His work with NVIDIA Omniverse explores the use of digital twin environments and virtual production in both entertainment and industrial design.[9][10]
