Steve Pennisi
Steve Pennisi is a contemporary American painter and printmaker.
A Maine native now based in Florida, Pennisi uses a technique he has referred to as "painting with both sides of the paint" to create abstractions and imaginary landscapes.[1] Pennisi's innovative printmaking techniques were facilitated by his previous experience in commercial printing.[1]
Pennisi has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions in New York, LA and at some of Southwest Florida’s museums and galleries. His work was included in the 2014 “Florida Contemporary” at the Baker Museum, Artis Naples, Naples, Florida, the 2014 “All Florida” at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boca Raton, Florida, and won Honorable Mention in the 31st Chelsea International Fine Art Competition in New York City.[2] On January 1, 2016, an exhibit of his opened at the Sydney and Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers, Florida.[3]
Pennisi has been a guest lecturer at Hodges University and Florida Gulf Coast University, conducting workshops and demonstrations.[4]
