Steven E. Shebik is Vice Chairman of The Allstate Corporation and Chief Executive Officer of Allstate Life Insurance Company. He was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Allstate Corporation from February 2012 to January 2018.[1][2][3]
Early life[edit]
Shebik earned bachelor's degrees in accounting and finance in 1978 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA in 1980 from the University of Chicago.[4]
Career[edit]
Shebik worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. until 1988. He then worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. where he held various accounting and financial positions from 1988 to 1995. Shebik started working at Allstate in 1995. He has served as Chief Financial Officer of Allstate Financial (2001-2005), Allstate Protection (2005-2008) and Allstate Investments (2009-2012).[4][5]
In February 2012, Shebik was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Allstate Corporation and Allstate Insurance Company.[6] He also served as the interim Chief Investment Officer from March 2016 until early 2017.[7]
In January 2018, Shebik was promoted to Vice Chairman of The Allstate Corporation and Allstate Insurance Company and Chief Executive Officer of Allstate Life Insurance Company. He oversees Allstate Life and Retirement, Allstate Benefits, Property-Casualty Alternative Segments (composed of Encompass, Esurance, Allstate Business Insurance and Ivantage), Finance, Corporate Business Transformation and the corporate analytics team, D3.[1][2][3]
