Sudeep Jaipurwale is an Indian playback singer and vocal designer. He is a fifth-generation musician from the Jaipur-Kunwar Shyam Goswami Gharana and is known for his collaborations with composer A. R. Rahman on films such as Ponniyin Selvan: I and Mom..[1] His work on the song "Be Nazaara" from Mom earned him a nomination for Best Upcoming Male Vocalist at the 10th Mirchi Music Awards.[2]
Musical Lineage and Training
Sudeep Jaipurwale belongs to a family with a musical lineage of over 300 years.[3] His father and guru is the vocalist and composer Pt. Bhavdeep Jaipurwale, his grandfather was Pt. Govindprasad Jaipurwale, and his great-grandfather was the Dhrupad singer Guni Gandharva Pt. Laxmanprasad Jaipurwale.[1] He is the fourth generation of his family to pursue playback singing in Bollywood.[3]
Career
Jaipurwale's career gained prominence with the song "Be Nazaara" from the film Mom, composed by A. R. Rahman. The track was a reinterpretation of a classical tappa originally performed by his grandfather.[1] He later collaborated with Rahman again for the song "Devaralan Naach" in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022).[1]
He has also contributed additional vocals to songs such as "Fitoor" from Shamshera (2022), composed by Mithoon.[4] As a vocal designer, he arranged the classical Tarana and Sargam for the song "Ghar More Pardesiya" from the film Kalank (2019), which was composed by Pritam[5]
In 2016, his family released the album Nirantarr 4 Generations, which featured the archival recordings and performances of four generations of the Jaipurwale family.[3]
