Sudha Reddy is an Indian businesswoman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, currently serving as the director at Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL).[1] She is also the chairperson of the Sudha Reddy Foundation, which focuses on supporting women and children.[2]

Early life and education

Sudha Reddy, born on December 10, 1978, in Vuyyuru, Andhra Pradesh, grew up in a simple middle-class family with her parents, grandparents, and elder sister. Her father, K. B. Reddy, worked at the State Bank of India, and her grandparents had an agricultural background. Sudha completed her primary education in Vuyyuru, pursued a degree in microbiology, but later followed her passion for fashion by earning a degree at NIFT.[3]

Career

Following her marriage to Krishna Reddy, Sudha Reddy assumed responsibilities related to the family's properties and investments.

MEIL

Sudha's involvement eventually led to her role as a director, attained through collaboration on various projects with MEIL. As a director, her primary focus was on MEIL's corporate social outreach, community collaboration, wellness programs, and ventures in the hospitality sector.[4]

SR Foundation

She played a role in the establishment of the SR Foundation, an organization focused on addressing challenges in cancer care, supporting women and children, tackling healthcare issues, and improving medical facilities.[5] The foundation is also involved in initiatives related to education enhancement, scholarships, healthcare support, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.[6]

The SR Foundation collaborates with global foundations, including UNICEF, to improve adolescent care in specific states in India. This includes partnerships with Eva Longoria and the Global Gift Foundation for initiatives benefiting underprivileged children affected by chronic diseases. Sudha also serves on the board at Andhra University for Mechanical Engineering[10] and as the chairperson at NRI General Hospital.[11]

Sudha has been part of various international events, including the Met Gala,[12] Paris Haute Couture Week, Paris Fashion Week, Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, Annual First Ladies Luncheon, State Of Qatar WHC Soiree, Ceremonial Service For The Most Excellent Order Of The British Empire and the Cannes Film Festival.[13] In 2021, she attended the Met Gala[14] and the Cannes Film Festival, walking the red carpet for the premiere of Leonardo DiCaprio's film, Killers Of The Flower Moon.[15]

Personal life

Sudha is married to businessman Megha Krishna Reddy[16] and has two sons, P.V. Manas Reddy and P.V. Pranav Reddy.[17] She resides in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.[18]
