Summit Nutritionals International, Inc. is an American multinational manufacturer of raw materials for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food industries.
Company
Summit Nutritionals International, Inc.[1] was founded in 2001 by Dr. Caesar DePaço, a Portuguese businessman as an expansion of Summit Sourcing, Inc., DePaço's first nutraceutical company, founded in 1997.
The company notably produces chondroitin sulfate, a sulfated glycosaminoglycan used in dietary and nutritional supplements, under the trademarked brand Droi-Kon.[2] It also produces cartilage powders (bovine, marine, poultry, and porcine).[3]
Summit Nutritionals International maintains a European office located in Cascais, on the Portuguese Riviera, outside the capital of Lisbon, and its Latin American office in Barueri, Brazil.[4][5]
In 2015, Sioux Pharm, Inc. brought a case against Summit Nutritionals International, on the basis of allegations that the chondroitin sulfate it produced was not of a pure grade. However, in October 2015, Sioux withdrew all claims made against Summit Nutritionals International and the lawsuit was dropped.[6]
In 2019, Summit Nutritionals International became an official sponsor for FC Porto, and in 2020, for CF Canelas 2010.[7][8]
