Sundh

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Sundh is a famous dish from Jammu and Kashmiri cuisine. It is a sort of dessert, similar to trail mix in America, that is popularly savored in north India during winter seasons. It is crunchy, and tastes sweet and delicious.

An old saying comes from Jammu about this dish. It goes: "summer begins with making pickles, and winter begins with placing sundh on the doorstep."

It is similar to, and often confused with, another dish named panjiri. The key difference in between those two dishes, however, is that sundh can be eaten during fasting, but panjiri cannot. This is because panjiri contains whole wheat flour but sundh doesn't.

Ingredients[edit]

It is made up of dry fruits, nuts, ghee, and sugar. Some variations of the recipe include jaggery.
