Sunil Gupta (born 28 August 1978) is an Indian chartered accountant, author and SME initial public offering (SME IPO) advisor. He is the founder of the advisory platform SME IPO Advisor and has been active in mentoring small and medium enterprises on raising capital through stock exchange listings.[1][2]

Early life and education

Gupta qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003. He later pursued advanced research in finance and business strategy, earning the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).[1]

Career

Gupta has over two decades of professional experience, with a focus on SME IPO advisory, due diligence, and capital market strategies. He is known for assisting SMEs in navigating compliance, governance and investor engagement during the IPO process.[1]

In 2025, he participated as an expert panelist at the MSME Insights Conclave held in New Delhi, where industry leaders discussed challenges and opportunities for SMEs in accessing public capital markets.[2]

Publications

On 22 March 2025, Gupta launched his book, Stop Playing Small, Go Public, Build an Empire, which provides guidance for entrepreneurs and SMEs considering IPOs as a growth strategy.[3]
