Sunny Lukas (Chinese: 陈卓熙) (born January 18, 2000), is a Hong Kong rapper, producer and songwriter. At 18, He has already established himself as a successful pop star in his native Hong Kong.[1] His latest release, a cover of "Despacito[2]" cover ft. Karol G, has gained some noticeable traction on YouTube. Now based in LA, he is about to break out in a big way.
After gained public recognition in the music video Despacito, released his first album, Everyone Is Beautiful (2018), which is best known for his song "Everyone is beautiful[3]" which peaked at 470k views on Youtube, and other music video such as Ain't Nobody. He subsequently signed a record deal with Yung Sunco.
He currently speaks 4 different languages English, Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin and is learning French, Italian and Russian.[4]
Early life[edit]
Born and raised in Hong Kong. Sunny attended Harrow International School Hong Kong, He moved to New York at the age of 16, where he attended The Taft School. He became a popular artist around Teenage.
Career[edit]
In New York, Sunny worked with experienced Music Row songwriters such as Larrance Dopson & 1500 or Nothin, Brody Brown in his first album. He released the track "Everyone is Beautiful" on 15 September 2017. The track has over 470 thousand views on YouTube[5], 350 thousand plays on Spotify.[6]
Sunny Lukas isn’t typically one to show of his worth. When it comes to the woman who has his heart however, he’ll spare no expense to pamper his princess. In the video, that special woman is played by model, Dajana Gudić. Written by Mike Hunnid and Sunny, the Spencer Taylor-directed clip features a classic red Mustang, beautiful palm trees and helicopters. The real focus of the characters however are each other. “Ain’t Nobody” is where K-Pop meets Billboard Top 40 and produced by Hit-Boy eventually became an international hit.[7]

Sunny has cited Justin Bieber, One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, Shawn Mendes & Bazzi as his musical inspirations[8]. The comparisons he’s drawn to Justin Bieber are fitting, as he’s also a singer/songwriter who’s gifted at the piano and guitar. In addition, Sunny can also play the ukulele. DJ Khaled, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran have all influenced his sound— a mixture of R&B, pop, dance, hiphop with a unique HK spin.
This eclectic blend of different styles is owed partially to his proclivity for international flavor—in addition to speaking English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Sunny is currently learning Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian.
