Music career
SupaStishun AKA Pollo Wang / Chicken Wang Sup is no stranger to many DJs and fans throughout the Southeast Region. He is mostly known for his infamous remake of a popular song "I Want Candy" in 2007. SupaStishun first gained recognition for his collaboration with David Banner, "What Tha Feezy" remix, in early 2005. The song featured on mix CDs, websites and independent publications across the southeast including Ozone Magazine "Patiently Waiting" Feb 4 Issue and Complex magazine.[3] By the end of the year SupaStishun landed a performance at the 1st annual SEA (Southeastern Ent. Award) in Jan 2004.[4]
Biography
SupaStishun (AKA Maurice SupaStishun) began writing rap and R&B music at 16 years old. He got his start recording in high school with a schoolmate and a low-budget studio. Since then, the production of his music has made impressive strides. "Lalipop" (I Want Candy)", produced by Atlanta producer Baybe-Lolife, displays a sophisticated arrangement, a far cry from the bass tapes of Supa's teenage years. Growing up, Supa listened religiously to the sounds of Slick Rick and Ice Cube. He also follows in the footsteps of major ATL rappers like T.I. and Ludacris, in addition to OutKast and Goodie Mob. Says SupaStishun about his favorite Atlanta rappers, "They did what I did; they saw what I saw. I just related with them all the way."
