Super-Max is a brand of disposable shaving blades, disposable razors and system razors amongst other personal care products for both men and women. The brand commenced operations in 1940 and has gained an experience of over 50-years in making shaving blades. Super-Max also offers toiletries which ranges from shaving creams, shaving foams, shaving gels, after-shave splash and balm and deodorants.

Operations commenced in 1940, revolving around the manufacture of shaving blades to fulfill the demand of various saloons and barbers. It is this expertise in blade making that helped the company enter the segment of disposable razors subsequently. Products offered are manufactured by Vidyut Metallics Private Limited,[1] which was incorporated in the year 1953 and is based in Mumbai, India. The brand Super-Max was conceived under the Vidyut Metallics banner in 1986 with product offerings of disposable-short handle razors targeted towards Mass Wholesalers in Eastern Europe and Dollar Stores and Pound Shops in the United States of America and United Kingdom respectively. Since then, business has spanned 5 continents - Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America with products being sold in more than 150 countries.[2]
Introduction[edit]
The company owns backward integrated manufacturing plants with homegrown patented technology for blade and razor making whereas toiletries are produced by third party manufacturing facilities.[3] Super-Max is the only razor blade company to roll its own steel for blade making thereby bringing about various cost efficiencies.[4]
The brand was the first one to launch the world’s 1st Triple Blade Disposable Razor in the year 1999, 1st Four Blade Disposable Razor for Women in the year 2004, 1st Four Blade Disposable Razor for Men in the year 2006.
Super-Max is the second largest manufacturer of shaving blades in the world.[5]
