Super Snake HD is a mobile application developed by programmer Mark Overmars and designer Jochem Schut published by YoYo Games.[1][2][3] The game is a variant on the classical game snake where the player guides a snake to eat items without getting hit by walls or itself.
It was published on June 16, 2011 for Android[4] (Price: Free) and iOS[5] (Price: $0.99), and later also for Chrome.[6] The game was removed at some moment from the Android Market (the current Google Play), App Store (iOS) en Chrome Web Store.[citation needed] The game was downloadable at least until August 17, 2014 from Google Play.[4]
Gameplay[edit]
The aim of the game is to make a snake turn around so that it does not bump into walls or itself. Along the way eggs, birds and all kinds of objects and animals must be eaten, after which the snake grows a bit. After a certain score a hole appears, where the player has to bring the snake. If successful, the player has completed the level. In the first version there were a total of 80 levels to play, and after update 2.0 there are 100 in total, divided over 5 worlds.[7] Each world has a different theme, introducing various gameplay elements, including walls, moving poles and other snakes.
In addition, players can compete against each other on one device in multiplayer mode. There are 5 lists containing the world's highest scores and 30 achievements can be earned.[6][7]

In the App Store, the game scored an average of 4/5 based on 277 ratings[8] and on Google Play a 4.2/5 based on 134 ratings.[4]
