Players are offered to create or join corporations (groups of up to fifty people), which then give permanent bonuses to defense and attack units of a player and allow him to participate in a corporate wars.

Battle for the Galaxy got positive reviews and high ratings for it's high quality graphics and popular gameplay model, proven successful in a popular mobile game Clash of Clans. Many reviewers liked Battle for the Galaxy, but however a group of people disliked the freemium model, which provides paying players with end-game content faster.

Battle for the Galaxy became very popular on Android devices with more than 5,000,000 total downloads and 110,000+ reviews within 2 years of existence.[3]

Battle for the Galaxy is an massively multiplayer online game, where players cooperate as a community (they are allowed to create or join a corporation), train army of technologicaly advanced units, and attack other players' space outposts to capture titanium and energy, and receive war points and medals for victories.

Titanium and energy can be used to further develop base and it's defenses, that protect the player from other players attacks. Amount of war points is used to determine best player within a league, tournament or corporate war and award him with special resources - crystals and antimatter, which are used also for base development:

  • Titanium is used to build most of the buildings, including defensive buildings and to upgrade the Headquarters, which then grants access to more buildings and possibilty to upgrade existing buildings.
  • Energy is used to prepare troops, starship and research new technologies for the army and to build and upgrade some buildings.
  • Crystals allow player to create more builders or build more starports, allowing player to faster develop the base or attack other players more frequently.
  • Antimatter allow player purchase building and troops above available capacity for the current technological level

Battle for the Galaxy also features a tutorial single player campaign in which the player can participate in a few of script-controlled battles to understand game mechanics.

Starports provide players with an ability to take more troops into the battle, Command Center reduces training time and Corporate Headquaters allows usage of troops, shared by corporate fellows. A player is allowed to have 5 starports a total, each with 4 starships.

The GG - "Battle for the Galaxy is like a mix of Red Alert and Dune. So if you like games of that kind. Then you should most definitely give Battle for the Galaxy a try!" [7]

App4Smart - "The game doesn’t really follow a core concept, it’s pretty equally split between focusing on the combat and the base building components of the game. The base building concept is a bit more in-depth than the former. There is plenty of space to build your base however you want it, and there are a ton of different options and upgrade paths you can choose from."
