Sydney Lett (born October 8, 1996) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She has shared the stage with names such as Blake Shelton and LeAnn Rimes. She was offered a record deal in Nashville at the age of 14.[1] Lett is now an ambassador for the Harrison's USA brand.[1]
Lett performed her first concert, called Frets for Pets, in 2010 to benefit a local animal shelter in Iowa. She raised $5,000. In 2012, Lett wrote 'Angels Still Cry,' which was used to raise money for the victims' families of the Sandy Hook tragedy.[2][3] After moving to Nashville, TN, Lett has also shared the stage with many artists such as Diamond Rio, Terri Clark, Jerrod Niemann, Rodney Atkins, Gretchen Wilson, Jon Pardi, Joe Nichols, Lonestar, and more.[4] Lett often performs shows and the national anthem at NASCAR races throughout the US.[5][6] Lett is known for her classic red lipstick and red guitar.[7]
Personal Life
Sydney Lett was born on October 8, 1996, in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up inspired by Dolly Parton and started playing guitar at the age of 10.[7] Lett has close ties to NASCAR[8] and has performed and sung the national anthem at multiple NASCAR races.[6] With her love of NASCAR, she has her own 1966 Ford Mustang.[7] Her Ford Mustang is named Audrey.[7]Lett is a huge fan of horses and did 'barrel racing' as a child in Iowa.[9]
Lett currently lives in Statesville, North Carolina, where she owns a farm while still performing and writing music.
Career
Lett got her start in music by winning a local contest, leading her to perform at the Iowa State Fair.[10][11] She played with a local band 'The Back Home Boys' in Wisconsin before opening for artists such as Blake Shelton.[12] Lett moved to Nashville in 2014 where she recorded 'Crazy Good Wonderful Life'. Prior to 2014, she wrote and recorded 'Angels Still Cry' in 2012 for the victims of Sandy Hook in Connecticut. In 2017, Lett performed at the UTA Convention at Paris (Las Vegas) as headliner and frequently performed with Joanne Cash and the Cash Family at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville.[13][2] In 2018, Lett released the single 'To Be Young'.[14][15] Lett released the radio hit 'Chasin' Trains' in 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lett performed for a virtual concert which was streamed live on social media.[9][16] She has also worked with writer/producer Danny Rader.[2] From performing the national anthem often at NASCAR races to stadiums throughout the US, including the Minnesota Twins,[3] Lett continues to perform multiple events throughout the US.[17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24] She has also been spotlighted on multiple podcasts throughout her career.[25][26]
