Sytion is a social economy platform for peer-to-peer exchange of website templates. It was recently launched in India with the slogans ‘Create, share and earn’ and ‘Search, select and save’, referring to the two main target groups of users: The users creating website templates and sharing them for a user-defined price or for free with other users, and The users looking for a website template to build their website at a low or no cost and with a minimum of time investment.

Sytion[1] is developed in PHP, making use of the Drupal platform. It is hosted on Amazon AWS. The developers also used HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.

    Create, share and earn

Users can create website templates with the Sytion website(template) builder. The builder does not require any coding skills, as users can create a website template with full drag and drop functionality. This basically means that everyone with some design skills or design interest can create website templates. Once the user has made a website template, he/she can define a price for their template, share it with other users and start earning money when other users use their website template to publish a website.

    Search, select and save

Users looking for a website but without the interest, time and/or skill to build their own website can search the Sytion website template database and select the template of their choice. They can complete and finalize their website by adding their content to the template, saving time and money.

Users that cannot find a website template fitting their needs can always use the Sytion website builder[2] to create a website from scratch.
