History[edit]

In late 2015, Matt opened the T-Shirt Bakery for business in his hometown of Manchester, England, with the aim giving his customers a unique customer experience. Initially working with UK based northern universities, (such as Manchester Metropolitan, University of Manchester, Leeds University) the T-Shirt Bakery quickly started to attract attention from corporate clients and household brands.

2016 was a big year for the T-Shirt Bakery, as they relocated their growing printing facility and opened a flagship store in Warrington, Cheshire. This allowed them to service a greater number of clients. With Warrington being situated between two major cities, both Liverpool and Manchester with excellent motorway links in all directions. The T-Shirt Bakery also, increased their client portfolio to include customers, like Pets at Home, Robert's Bakery, Network Rail, and NHS Foundation Trust.

In 2017 the T-Shirt Bakery introduced a paper and card printing service to work with their existing graphic design division. This would allow the company to expand their printable product range and serve a greater number of services to their corporate clients.

Printing Technology[edit]

DTG Printing[edit]

The T-Shirt Bakery uses a digital method of printing called DTG (Direct to Garment). This method of printing differs somewhat from conventional silk screen printing techniques, as the ink is actually embedded within the fabric of the garment and does not lay on top of the garment like a screen print. This method of printing has only been around since the early 2000's but is quickly becoming a popular method of printing due to the quality and high detail of the print work this method provides. Other benefits of using this digital form of printing, is that DTG prints don't crack or peel like conventional silk screen printing.

The T-shirt Bakery uses a PolyPrint Texjet Plus DTG printer with the highest resolution print on the market. This is achieved by using a converted Epson 3880 as the main printing unit. With the 3880 being a high resolution professional photographic printer, this allows garments to be printed at 1440 dpi.
