TYPIFŸ (/ˈtɪpɪfaɪ/) is an American Indie-Electro group formed in Brooklyn, NY. Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Patrick Dunn is the only permanent member of the group.
Dunn released the group's first single "Have You Here" in 2019 electronically while transitioning jobs as a longstanding bartender. After experiencing heartbreak, Dunn went on to release his first album "Ghost of You" (2020), putting him on the map.
After the release of his first album, Dunn partnered with Eric Tapper, a guitarist who also worked as a solo artist and with many other groups throughout his career.
History
Formation (2019)
In Brooklyn, NY, Dunn started the group TYPIFŸ after working with several bands throughout his youth. Dunn started using self-recorded loops mixed in with synthesized drums and layered vocals to create his unique sound. Dunn started taking classes at Full Sail University to help round his sound and gain further knowledge on improving his production. He was unable to find groups that could help him articulate his style of music, so he started producing all the parts himself.

Influences
Dunn was heavily inspired by Nine Inch Nails's Trent Reznor, whose solo-production and unique sound gave life to his vision and sound. While their styles greatly differ, his musical inspirations are Rufus du Sol, Miike Snow, and Beck whom he draws his unique sound.
