T V S Nagar (Tamil: டி. வி. எஸ். நகர்) is a neighbourhood in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India.[1][2]
T V S Nagar is located at an altitude of about 159 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 9°54′04″N 78°05′52″E / 9.901200°N 78.097800°E
(i.e., 9°54'04.3"N, 78°05'52.1"E)). Madurai, Simmakkal, Goripalayam, Yanaikkal, Nelpettai, East Gate, South Gate, Thathaneri, Koodal Nagar, Arappalayam, Arasaradi, Kalavasal, S. S. Colony, Palanganatham, Pasumalai, Ellis Nagar, Jaihindpuram and Thiruparankundram are some of the important neighbourhoods of T V S Nagar. (Refer Maps, for example, Google Maps, Google Earth, etc.)
In Madurai, a road overbridge connecting Madakulam and T V S Nagar was constructed in the year 2015. The second arm (extension) of the Madakulam and T V S Nagar bridge towards Jaihindpuram, 251 m long, with a project cost of about ₹16.62 crore, is currently under construction.[3]
A vaishnavite temple, Kothandaramar temple, is situated in T V S Nagar.[4]
T V S Nagar falls under the Madurai West Assembly constituency.[5] The winner of the election held in 2021 as the member of its assembly constituency is Sellur K. Raju.[6] Also, this area belongs to Madurai Lok Sabha constituency. The winner of the election held in 2019 as the member of its Lok Sabha constituency is S. Venkatesan.[7]
