Chaudhry Muhammad Tahir Munir Cheema (Urdu: طاہر منیر چیمہ; born on 25 June 1964) is a Pakistani businessman and politician who has served as Tehsil Nazam of Sangla Hill from 2005 to 2010 as an independent candidate. Born into middle-class family of Marh Balochan, Tahir Munir is the eldest son of Munir Ahmad Cheema, an officer of FBR. He is elder brother of Tallat Munir Cheema, who also contested for nazam.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Tahir Munir was born in Lahore, Punjab on 25 June 1964. His father Munir Ahmad Cheema was an officer in FBR and his mother was house wife. Tahir Munir spent his early days in wahdat colony. At age of 15 a tragedy happened and his father was murder by his rivals. He has one younger brother Tallat Munir Cheema who is farmer and politician by profession.
Tahir Munir got his early education at home and then completed his matriculation from Vaniky Tarar. After matriculation he did his inter from Forman Christian College, Lahore. After that he started his graduation at Forman Christian College, Lahore but he never completed that and returned to his home at Kot Bhaga.
After returning to his village he started to look at his fathers farms and business. He got success in every aspect of his life due to his hard work and faith in what he is doing.
Political career[edit]
Tahir Munir Cheema belongs to a political family. Although his father never contested any election but his uncles were taking an active part in politics and were used to contest local government elections. He started his political career as a student. First of all he contested as president of student union Sangla Hill. In 2005 when Sangla Hill got status of tehsil Ch Tahir Munir Cheema represented his family and elected as an independent candidate for local government. Due to his personality and his family background he was able to defeat a strong candidate of ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (Q). This was a great success for Tahir Munir's politics.
After general elections of 2008 Tahir Munir Cheema joined hands with PPP because leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party assured him to work for general public. This gave him another 3 years to serve his public. After his tenure he was not able to walk with PPPs leadership due to crash of political agendas.
Afterwards Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf raised the slogan of bringing revolution in Pakistan and PTIs delegation assured Tahir Munir Cheema to serve general public which was his main goal of politics so in general elections of 2013 he decided to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Tahir was appointed PTIs deputy district president of Nankana Sahib.
He has earned hearts of his public and many opponents are inspired by his faith to work for welfare of public. Due to his corruption free tenure he is able to earn name in politics and create a huge sum of supporters. Many writers and media persons have given testification about his uprightness.
