Talend is a Redwood City, California-based enterprise data integration software vendor.[1] The company provides enterprise software for data management,[2] and ETL tools.

Talend was founded in 2005 by French entrepreneurs Bertrand Diard and Fabrice Bonan.[3]

In 2006, they launched Talend Open Studio for Data Integration.[4] Other data integration vendors include IBM, Informatica, and SAP AG.[5]

In 2010, Talend acquired Sopera, a German company providing ESB for orchestrating services, as well as an array of SOA development, testing, management and monitoring capabilities.[6]

In July 2016, Talend (NASDAQ: TLND) became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ.[7] This made it the third French software company to go public on the American stock exchange market after Business Objects and Criteo.[8]

In 2017, Talend acquired Restlet, a cloud-based, open-source API design and testing platform.[9]

In 2018, Talend acquired Stitch, a cloud-based self-service offering that automates data ingestion pipelines into the cloud.[10]

In 2019, the company reported 2017 revenue of $149M.[11].

Talend is headquartered in Redwood City, California where most of the executive team is based. Its legal headquarters are in Suresnes, France, with additional offices worldwide. Talend has over 1,200 employees, and Talend claims more than 4,000 global enterprise customers.

Since 2016, Talend (NASDAQ:TLND) is publicly traded on the NASDAQ.[7] Talend publishes the code of its core modules under the Apache License. Additional features and services are made available under a commercial subscription license.[citation needed]
