Tapan Vyas is an Indian cinematographer & Director [1] known for his work in Love Ni Bhavai, Paaghadi, Mijaaj and O! Taareee.[2] He works predominantly in Gujarati & Hindi industries. He is an alumnus of Film and Television Institute of India[3]

Early life

Tapan Vyas was born in Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India), and trained to be a Chemical Engineer. Fascinated by the magic of cinema, he decided to pursue film making and received formal training in the art of cinematography from the “Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune”.[4][5] After graduating from the FTII, he moved to Mumbai to find work. He started working with different DOPs/Cinematographers as an assistant for a couple of years and then began working as an independent Cinematographer. Now, he is also directing full-length ‘Feature Films’.[6] Regardless of the type of project, his goal as a filmmaker is to create powerful images to give viewers an everlasting cinematic experience. A decade of work experience includes numerous TV commercials, documentaries, corporate films and feature films. As a cinematographer for “Ocean of an Old Man” he received critical appreciation. Apart from this, he believes that formative years in Old Ahmedabad and a graduation in Chemical Engineering from a top engineering college will also help him to think creatively, and to coordinate multiple tasks to complete projects effectively.
