Tayba Al Hashemi (طيبة الهاشمي) is the first woman to assume the position of CEO in the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. She is a CEO of Al Yasat Petroleum UAE. [1].

Education

Al Hashemi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the United Arab Emirates University Abu Dhabi [2] She graduated from the university in 2001 [3].

Career

Al Hashemi has worked in various reputable designations in the public sector of oil and gas, UAE. She has a background in the fields of reservoir, operations and project management. She has also served as Vice President of Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations [4].

Al Hashemi was appointed as CEO of Al Yasat Petroleum, the youngest operating company of ADNOC and first joint venture between ADNOC and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). She was appointed on April 25, 2018.[5] Abu Dhabi National Oil Company announced her appointment as "Her CEO appointment further delivers on our commitment to drive gender diversity across our leadership team" [6].

Awards & Honours

Al Hashemi has won the LEWAS Woman of Achievement Award in 2018. [7]

She was also honoured to deliver a keynote address at the Women's Global Leadership Conference in Energy, the largest women’s event in the industry, held in Houston, Texas on October 29, 2019. [8]
