Taylor Browne (born Jan 30, 1997) is a Canadian-born Filipino-Antiguan professional basketball player for the Alaska Aces of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).[1]

High school career[edit]

Browne graduated from Holy Cross in Surrey, British Columbia in 2015. He played on the senior varsity basketball team starting from the 9th grade and led Holy Cross to 3rd place in the 2013 AA Provincial Championships[2] and 2nd place in the 2014 AAAA Provincial Championship. [3]

As a senior, he averaged 30.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.7 blocks per game and finished his career as the all-time leading scorer and set the one game scoring record with 58 points in one game for Holy Cross.[4]

He played AAU basketball for Drive Basketball in Richmond, British Columbia one of the top AAU programs in Canada.[5]

College career[edit]

Browne played college basketball for the UBC Thunderbirds representing the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia from 2015 to 2020, competing in the U Sports Canada-West Conference. As a freshman he was named to the Canada-West All-Rookie team.[6] As a senior he had his first game vs Filipino competition in Mighty Sports in the 2019 William Jones Cup scoring 25 points and going 7/11 from three.[7]

UBC is coached by Kevin Hanson, the winningest coach in Canada-West basketball history.[8]

In his five years at UBC, Browne averaged 7.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 41% 3pt fg.[9]

Professional career[edit]

Alaska Aces[edit]

On March 14, 2021, Browne was drafted by the Alaska Aces in the 2nd round with the 16th overall pick.[10]
