Tayo Koleosho (born 27 July 1970) is a Nigerian technology expert and public administrator. He served as the senior adviser on ICT to the Governor of Oyo State from June 2011 to May 2013 and later as the commissioner for integration and intergovernmental affairs from June 2013 to May 2014.[1] Since 2009, he has been a partner at MData Solutions Inc. He is the current chief of staff to the executive chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).[2][3]

Early life and education

Koleosho began his education at Bodija International School, Ibadan, completing his primary education in 1981. He continued at Loyola College, Ibadan, where he obtained his WAEC certificate in 1986. He then attended the International School, Ibadan, for his Advanced Level (A' Levels) studies.[4]

He proceeded to the University of Ibadan, where he studied geology, graduating in the 1993/1994 academic session. After completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Jos, Plateau State, he relocated to the United States and enrolled at Johns Hopkins University. There, he earned a master's degree in information technology in 2000, with a concentration in information assurance and security, marking the beginning of his professional career in the field.[5]

Career

After earning a master's degree in information technology with a focus on information assurance and security from Johns Hopkins University in 2000, Koleosho began a professional career in the United States. He joined Honeywell International, a Fortune 500 company, where he worked for five years and rose to the role of technical project manager.[5]

He later moved into consulting, working with prominent firms such as BearingPoint, Deloitte, PwC, and American Express. In 2009, he returned to Nigeria to serve as chief of risk and compliance at Interswitch. Between 2011 and 2014, he held public office in Oyo State, first as special adviser on information technology and later as commissioner for intergovernmental relations.[5] After his tenure in government, he resumed private consulting and founded MData Solutions, a firm specializing in training and consulting in project management, risk management, information assurance, and data analysis. Following a brief return to the U.S. post-COVID-19 to work with Dell Technologies as a senior consultant in cybersecurity and AI, He has since returned to Nigeria and currently serves as chief of staff to the executive chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji.[5]
