In November 2006, a man allegedly linked with the Hizbul Mujahideen militant group, was arrested for attacking the Barelvi sect leader and Soutul Auwliya chief, Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, with a grenade.[8] In this attack, about six people were killed and more than 50 were injured.[9]
