Telangana State Health Profile or TS Health Profile is a electronic health record project for the citizens of Telangana by Government of Telangana. Apart from gathering helath profile, it also provides free health check-up every year for 3.64 crore citizens of the state, collected during Samagra Kutumba survey. This exercise will help in extending vital medical services, especially management of Non-communicable diseases (NCD) among patients. There is a significant increase in lifestyle-related conditions such as cardiac ailments, pulmonary or respiratory ailments, strokes and even anaemia due to iron deficiency in the state.
It was announced by the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekhar Rao during the budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly on 14 March 2018. The health profile is to be modeled on the lines of similar profile used in the United States of America.
The Helath Profile
The Electronic health record of every citizen would help create a state-wide computerized health records database, to be accessed by doctors and healthcare institutions for accurate history of individual health information like allergies, diseases, immunizations, lab results, medications, medical procedures, and clinical vitals. The doctors can access the health record through iris scan, fingerprint or Aadhaar number of the patient. A state health card is to be provided for all citizens in eight months.
