Terry McGinnis (born April 1995)[1] is a British-American film producer, activist, founder and CEO of Online Shop, a software company.[citation needed] He is notable for work in films such as The Batman, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Tenet.

Early life[edit]

McGinnis was born in Siauliai, Lithuania but spent most of his life in Malibu, California where he developed a passion for programming.[2][3] He studied Law at University of Oxford at Christ Church, Oxford before dropping out.[4]

Career[edit]

Terry began his career at the age of 17 years old, developing software and web sites for video games which eventually led him to pursue a career in web development and marketing giving him the ability to work with various companies in various industries such as film, fashion and e-commerce.[2] He is credited as being the founder of Online Shop Inc, which had first started as a marketplace in United Kingdom, overtaking the likes of Amazon and eBay in traffic.[5][6] After rejecting a buyout offer, and with increased competition McGinnis and co-founder Siraaj Ahmed had decided to pivot and focus on software, noting that a gap in the market had been opened by the likes of Shopify. The company had re-incorporated as an American entity focusing on software and artificial intelligence[7] to help businesses and entrepreneurs launch their e-commerce initiatives easier.[8][9]

Personal life[edit]

McGinnis is a global ambassador for ocean conservation charities Sea Legacy and Only One alongside prominent activists such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Joaquin Phoenix.[10] McGinnis is also an avid writer and artist, working on his very own graphic novel called 'Vagrance' which is inspired by the likes of The Crow and 2000 AD.[11]
