Thalita do Valle (1982/1983 – 30 June 2022[1]) was a Brazilian model and actress who became famous for joining Ukraine's army as a sniper.[2] She participated in humanitarian missions around the world, fought against ISIS in Iraq, and against the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.[2]
Biography[edit]
Do Valle worked as a model and an actress and studied law.[2] She also volunteered with NGO animal rescues.[3]
She later received sniper training from the Peshmerga and fought ISIS.[2][4] She went on to volunteer for Ukraine's army as a sniper and survived a bombing in Kyiv, but was eventually killed in a missile attack on Kharkiv[2] at the age of 39.[5] The same strike also killed Douglas Burigo, a former Brazilian soldier volunteering in Ukraine.[6]
