The Adobe Sessions is the 25th and final studio album by Bobby Vee which was released on February 3, 2014.[1] Recorded in between 2011 and 2012 in Tucson, Arizona.[2] it was produced by Vee and Family with Mark Stockert and Thomas Cabot.
it contains old and mix favorite including Ricky Nelson's "Never Be Anyone Else But You", Don Williams "I'm Just a Country Boy", & Buddy Holly "Love Must Have Passed Me By".[3] it also included a new, re-recorded version of "In My Baby Eyes", which previously appeared on his 1962 album A Bobby Vee Recording Session, "Since I Met You Baby", which previously appeared on his 1960 album, Bobby Vee Sings Your Favorite, "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter", and I Gotta Know", which both previously appeared on his both Collaborative albums 1962, Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets and 1963, Bobby Vee Meets The Ventures.
History
in 2011, Vee was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and stop performing.[4] soon after, he move to Tucson, Arizona, with his family, and made his makeshift studio in the garage of his home.[5] According to Vee, while speaking to The Associated Press "There's some songs he liked, and he "wanted to do some more music."[5]
According to Bobby Vee's Son, Tommy Vee, "[There] not looking to hit the charts again with these songs ... [but it] really contains powerful memories for ... [Vee] and his whole family."[6] it was his final recordings before his death two years later on October 24, 2016.'[7]
