The Anazala Family or انصالة فاميلي | أنس و أصالة is a YouTube channel hosted by Asala Maleh and Anas Marwah, a married couple who have gained popularity through their entertainment and Lifestyle videos on YouTube.
The channel has made three world records verified by the Guinness World Records. They have won 2022 Kids' Choice Awards and received a nomination for 11th Streamy Awards.[1]
History
Overview
Asala Maleh and Anas Marwah launched their YouTube channel "Anasala | أنس و أصالة" in December 2017, while uploading their first video in July 2018. The couple started their career with creating and uploading vlogs videos for Arabic language audiences.[2]
The channel gained popularity because of surprise videos uploaded for audiences. They launched "The Anazala Family", another channel in January 2021 to reach the English speaking audiences.[3]
In February 2021, the Anasala Family launched a live stream donation campaign along with UNHCR, through which they secured more than $193,000 to save over 1000 Internally Displaced People families.[4]
In December 2021, the couple were invited by VidCon to join their VidCon Abu Dhabi's inaugural convention which was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.[5]
Their videos have been at number one in the "YouTube Top 10 Trending Videos" in MENA in 2020 and 2021.[6]
World records
On 19 May 2020, the Anasala Family hosted and live streamed an Iftar party on YouTube along with other five YouTubers; Mohamed Moshaya, Noor Stars, TheSaudiReporters | سعودي ريبورترز, Asrar Aref, and Omar Hussein. The stream got into the Guinness World Records creating a record for most viewers for an Iftar YouTube live stream.[7]
While Asala was pregnant with her second child, the couple arranged a gender reveal party at Burj Khalifa on 9 September 2020, when the whole building was lit up in blue and said "It'S A BOY". The video of the baby gender reveal gained over 16 million views within the first three days. Their gender reveal party video was included in the Guinness World Records two times, once on 10 September 2020 for being most viewed gender reveal party video in 24 hours on YouTube with over 9 million views, and second time on 12 January 2021 for being the most viewed gender reveal video on YouTube with over 31 million views.[8]
Controversies
The couple's gender reveal party at Burj Khalifa was criticized by many people, because it was speculated that around $100,000 USD was paid by the couple to host that party, while their management team confirmed that they "didn't pay any amount to any entity to make this happen".[9][10]
Personal life
Asala Maleh was born in 1996 to a Syrian family. Anas Marwah was born to the Syrian official Hisham Marwah. Asala and Anas met through a social networking site, and married on 25 February 2017. They have two children.[11][12]
