The Art Gorgeous
The Art Gorgeous is a contemporary art magazine founded in 2015[1] by CEO and founding editor Cordelia Noe.[2] Initially founded in Hong Kong, the bi-annual print publication and daily blog focuses on the cross-section between fashion, luxury and the art world.[2] It is based in Milan, Italy.
History[edit]
The magazine was founded in 2015 by Noe. The name of the magazine comes from seeing a stylish woman at an art world event, like an art fair, and noticing her "tasteful, stylish and sharp appearance," which is defined as 'the art gorgeous'.
The first interview was a Q&A with art historian Angelica Taschen on her personal style. Since then, over 100 artists[3] have been interviewed for the magazine.
Style[edit]
The magazine also features art news, art reviews,[4] celebrity news, brand collaborations and interviews with inspiring women working in the art world, artists, and art advisors, art patrons, curators and art collectors. They have featured interviews with women entrepreneurs like art advisor Chrissy Crafword,[citation needed] Hong Kong gallerist Pearl Lam[5] and artist Tauba Auerbach.[6]
The magazine has a non-academic approach to covering contemporary art. It covers industry news, art week travel guides and art fair style and art coverage. They have created magazine issues with collaborations with artists like Kaws and brands like Gucci.
The magazine also rus the Art X Lux conference, which is an industry gathering between fashion brands and the art world[7] and leaders in luxury marketing.
