Reception[edit]

The Ballad of Captain Vengence recived moderate to positive reviews. Shorted wrote "Overall, the film aspires to be an entertaining, involving and intriguing story that weaves in elements of psychology, violence, crime and a woman's attempts to stop at nothing to realise the wishes she has decided to fulfil"[2]. Praise was given for the tone and depiction of Luna, [Haberfelner] from reSearch my Trash wrote "the story being to what length one goes to not accept that.  But it goes to this short's credit that this is not told in an over-the-top no-holds-barred comedy way but actually shows heart and sympathy for its lead, whose admittedly humourous attempts at superheroing also show some sincerity[3]".

Awards[edit]

Australian Short Film Network's "Movie of the Month" for March 2020.
