The BeBop Channel is an American streaming television service and multi-arts platform operated by The BeBop Channel Corporation.
Overview
The platform was founded by jazz musician Gregory Charles Royal and Sue Veres Royal and headed by Washington journalist and impresario Steven Clemons as CEO. It is believed to be the first commercial outlet of its kind to focus on independent tv/film and performance festivals in the areas of jazz, dance, and theatre.[citation needed]
The company became a public company trading in the OTC Markets Group on January 26, 2022 under the ticker symbol BBOP.[1][2]
The platform can be streamed through smart TVs, digital media players and apps.[3]
One of the unique features of the platform is that it offers stock ownership as compensation to filmmakers by way of its online film festivals.[4]
According to SEC filings, The BeBop Channel entered into a branding content partnership with Philip Morris International as of June 30, 2021.[5]
The BeBop Channel was qualified by the SEC for a Regulation A offering in November, 2020 and currently is awaiting approval by FINRA to trade in the OTC Markets.
