Kiran Dutta, better known as The Bong Guy is an Indian YouTuber, actor, singer-songwriter, who primarily makes content in the Bengali language. He is mostly known for his skits on cringe TV shows and films. He brought the YouTube revolution in Bengal and is often compared to fellow YouTuber CarryMinati.
Early life
Dutta was born to an army officer and a housewife. So, he had shifted places every now and then. Then his family permanently shifted to Dhubulia, Nadia. He did his high schooling there. He has a brother, Kaushik Dutta.
Career
2015-2016: Early years
Dutta started his main channel in 2015, when 4G networking in India was rolled out by Airtel. His channel was earlier known as BongTubers. Later it was changed to The Bong Guy.
2017-2018: Fame
He rose to fame in 2017 for his series E Kemon Cinema (What the hell is this film?), E kemon Gaan (Bengali songs copied), TV show roasts, TikTok roasts. He also experimented with AIB-like skits. He then collaborated with Dev. He also made videos with DJ Bapon, Wonder Munna, etc.
2019-present: Pan-Indian Recognition
Dutta then went to the pan-Indian level, being the first Bengali YouTuber to meet actors like Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. He was also invited to the YouTube FanFest Creator Camp, being one of the first from Bengal alongside Wonder Munna. In that particular video, he wanted a Bengali YouTube event. A few months later, he got the chance to be in the first event in Kolkata. He is a Marvel fan. He released a Bengali Spider-Man skit a few days ago to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
