Thelma Carrez (Alexandra Lamy) is a single mother obsessed with her job at a cosmetics company.
One day, while out for a walk with her son Louis, she receives yet another business call. This exasperates Louis, who takes off with his skateboard. These few seconds of inattention are enough for Louis to be hit by a vehicle, leading him into a coma.
After coming to terms with the fact that he could never wake up, Thelma finds a diary in her son's belongings which he calls his “notebook of wonders”. It is filled with actions he would like to accomplish in the future, which he names the "10 things to do before the end of the world". Thelma decides to carry out these actions herself so that he can experience them through her, also hoping that it could wake him up from his coma.
From Japan to Portugal, Thelma embarks on an adventure which gives her new reasons to live for, to reconnect with her son... and herself. This journey into her teenager's dreams will take her much further than she ever imagined, rekindling her own taste for life.
Along the way, she gets an autograph on Louis's skateboard by a famous (albeit fictional) recluse manga artist named K.G.I (Kurosa Gatanabe Itune), creator of Louis's favorite manga about a wolf-human named Akuma (just as fictional). K.G.I's assistant editor (Hiroki Hasegawa) leads her to meeting the author (Ellie from Chim↑Pom).
Other moments include travelling to Portugal to dive and see whales, learning skateboard and seeing Louis's wake up.
