The Bridge Across Forever is an autobiography by writer and pilot Richard Bach. First published in 1984, the book tells the story of the author's desire to find his soulmate. "Bridge" was on the New York Times bestseller list for over a year.

Plot[edit]

Bach is barnstorming through the Midwest in a biplane, looking for his one true love in various small towns and not finding her. One day, after meeting new people on a visit to Russell, Iowa, he realizes that he will not meet her this way and decides to change his lifestyle. After doing television interviews and the like pertaining to his bestselling novel, Illusions, he meets actress Leslie Parrish, and they fall in love. The book tells of the various challenges they share as a couple, both together and separately, as they each learn from each other and grow together.
