The Carroll Companies
The Carroll Companies, Inc., with its subsidiaries,[1] is a privately held real estate development and property management company based in Greensboro, North Carolina.[2] The company was founded by Roy E. Carroll, II in 1983.
The company is diversified and owns and develops multifamily properties, mixed-use lifestyle centers, and storage solutions. The company has over $2.5 billion in real estate assets that they currently own or have under development. The Carroll Companies, estimated at over $2.5 billion, specialize in land development, construction, and managing properties. The company has 36 multifamily properties with more than 15,000 apartment homes either completed or in development.[3]
Projects[edit]
A development, Carroll at Bellemeade, in Greensboro, is a mixed-use development within four structures, consisting of a Hyatt Place Hotel and 289 upscale apartment homes. It is scheduled to open in 2018 as the city's first new hotel in 30 years.[4]
Another completed development, Center Pointe, features a transformed former Wachovia building into luxury apartments and condominiums with office space.[5]
The Avenue in Wilmington, NC is a luxury, mixed-use development that will feature 500 luxury apartment homes, a Westin hotel, and approximately 109,000 sq. ft of retail and office space.[6]
Founder and CEO[edit]
The company was founded by Roy E. Carroll, II in 1983.[7][8] He serves as President and Chief Executive Officer at The Carroll Companies, Inc.[9][10] Carroll was named the Downtown Greensboro Person of the Year award in 2006 and in 2010 one of the Triad’s Most Influential People ten years in a row by the Triad Business Journal.[11] Junior Achievement of Central North Carolina, Inc. named him its Hall of Fame Laureate. He is also a member of the United Way Tocqueville Society and serves on a number of civic and nonprofit Boards.
