The Chenese Lewis Show is a podcast geared toward the plus size modeling and fashion industries. The show includes in-depth interviews with a wide range of experts, including plus size influencers and brands, giving the audience an inside look at the plus size industry. The podcast created and hosted by actress, host, and plus size model Chenese Lewis, is distributed via BlogTalkRadio, iTunes, Google Play Music, Stitcher, and Tunein.
History[edit]
The show launched March 17, 2008 as PLUS Model Radio, serving as the flagship podcast for PLUS Model Magazine, an online publication focused on the plus-size model[1]. In 2009 the 'Top 12 Curvy Entertainers’ List was created by listener participation and announced on the show. The list honored those curvy women who made their historical marks in the entertainment industry while empowering real women who have curves, which was featured on Essence Magazine's website. [2] In 2010 Chenese was accepted to participate on Radio Row for the Essence Music Festival, one of the largest consumer live events in the U.S., with more than 550,000 attendees. For five years she participated as press on radio row interviewing mainstream celebrities during the festivities including Boyz II Men, Gladys Knight, and Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama. [3]
Chenese parted ways with the magazine and in October 2013 the podcast was rebranded to The Chenese Lewis Show. [4] In 2014 Chenese was listed as a "Plus Fashion Power Player On The Rise" on Ebony.com in which the podcast was quoted as "The Chenese Lewis Show is an important voice in plus size fashion, providing a platform and outlet for those who are making moves within the community."[5]
